Welcome to the Australasian Schools Cycling Cup, the "Tour de France" for schools.
The ASCC is an opportunity for your school to compete in a professionally conducted, multi-discipline competitive cycling event.

Students can enter as many or as few events as they want, however, the more students in your team and the more events they enter will assist your school to collect the overall Peter Bartels Perpetual Trophy.

The ASCC will be conducted over three-days of competition on Tuesday, March 23 to Thursday, March 25, 2010.

The event will be conducted in Dookie, Mt Major and Shepparton in the following disciplines:

  • BMX (Shepparton)
  • MTB: Cross Country and Down Hill (Mt Major)
  • Road Racing; Individual and Teams Time Trial; (Dookie); Hill Climb (Mt Major)

Shepparton is a town approx 240 kms north of Melbourne and 700 km south of Sydney (Dookie and Mt Major are approx 25 kms east of Shepparton)

There is no minimum or maximum number of competitors that your school can enter (for example, you can enter a team of one if you have a student that is keen to come along), however, you must enter through your school (no mixing schools please!).

Each competitor will be asked to select the disciplines of racing that they would like to contest (ie, Individual Time Trial, Road Race, MTB Cross Country) - it is not a requirement that you do every discipline, but you can choose to do as many as you like*. While you may be an experienced BMX rider, you might like to try MTB Down Hill at the event.

Each individual winner will receive a commemorative 2010 Road World Championships jersey, while placegetter will receive medals.

Your school will be awarded points across each discipline to arrive at the Champion Male and Female schools (see rules for more information). The Champion schools will be awarded the Peter Bartels Perpetual Trophy. PLUS the UCI Road World Championships will be conducted in Geelong in September/October 2010 and as a special award, the winning teams from each category will be invited to attend the U23 Male Road Race (see Melbourne 2010 for more information).

There are some great, low cost accommodation options in the area to assist your school. Please click our “Accommodation in Shepparton” link on the side bar to access details about these.

*The event organisers have worked hard to ensure the event scheduling does not clash, however, in some instances, events may clash - please see the event schedule for more information.
